After a failed bid then dramatic reappointment, Virgin Trains wanted to come back with a bang. ELVIS were ready. With a stylish and impactful campaign that brought rail travel’s golden age back to life and seduced customers back onto our trains.
We confronted train-travel sceptics with TV, cinema and outdoor that romanticised the experience and speed of train travel, both engaging and re-educating our hostile audience with our platform, ‘Fly Virgin Trains’.
Cleverly placed ads in traffic hot spots (OOH, radio & trucks) targeted those who needed to hear us most. And with the support of a national TVC, area-specific press, online ads and eCRM, we not only saw a 4.3% increase in passenger journeys, but an impressive £11m additional revenue.
